Using embodied writing practices, mindfulness and somatic awareness, we unlock the memories that live not just in the mind but in the body — the ones that resist the page until you find the right way in.

Memoir is an act of bearing witness — to your experiences, your becoming, the life you have lived and the person you are still growing into. This course gives you the container, the community and the craft tools to bring that story into the light.

This course goes beyond craft into the living heart of your story. Through embodied writing practices, mindfulness and carefully crafted teaching, you are guided to access the memories and meanings that are waiting to find their way to the page.

Memoir asks vulnerability. With a maximum of 12 writers, this is an intimate, carefully held space — one where you can share what's real, receive honest reflection, and know your story matters to the people in the room with you.

Amanda is the founder of The Mindful Writer, the author of three novels, and a writing guide and mentor who has spent 15 years helping writers go deeper into their own stories.
What she has learned, most of all, is that memoir is a healing art. That the act of writing your life — honestly, with care, with the whole body present — is one of the most transformative things you can do. She writes her own memoir pieces on The Mindful Writer Substack, bringing the same honesty and courage to the page that she invites from the writers she guides.
An accredited mindfulness mentor, meditation teacher, Yoga Nidra teacher, journal therapist and Reiki practitioner, Amanda brings the full range of her contemplative practice into her teaching. She knows what it is to discover your own story on the page — to find out, through the act of writing, what you have actually been living. That is what she is here to guide you to do.

A rich, structured body of teaching delivered through your private course space — including craft guidance, mindfulness practices and writing prompts. Work through the material in your own time, at your own pace.

Amanda guides you through a somatic awareness practice to settle into the body, then leads you into deep writing through carefully crafted prompts. Sessions run every two weeks at 4pm UK time. The first session is Wednesday 16 September 2026.

Share your responses to the course prompts in your private group space, receive brief written reactions from Amanda, and offer and receive peer reflection throughout the 12 weeks. Your community is part of your writing practice.
