Journalling Courses

These three self-study courses use mindful writing and therapeutic journalling as tools for genuine inner transformation. Each one is rooted in Amanda's training as a therapeutic journalling practitioner and mindfulness mentor, and in her own ongoing practice — these are approaches she lives by.

Work through them at your own pace, returning to any session whenever you need it. Each course includes teaching, guided writing prompts, and a meditation or mindfulness practice.

All three courses are available as beautifully formatted PDFs, ready to download and keep and work through when suits you best.

Your Guide

Amanda Saint

Amanda is the founder of The Mindful Writer, the author of three novels, an award-winning publisher, and has spent many years learning to become enchanted with life no matter what's going on.

She's been teaching creative writing for 15 years, but what she's really teaching is how to pay attention. How to meet yourself honestly on the page. How to use writing as a tool for genuine inner change.

An accredited mindfulness mentor, meditation teacher, Yoga Nidra teacher, journal therapist, and Reiki practitioner, she practises what she's inviting you into. She has used journalling to navigate her own limiting beliefs, her relationship with ageing, and the ongoing work of meeting herself with compassion — and she brings all of that to these courses.

The courses

From Limiting Beliefs to Limitless Self: A writing journey from wounded to whole

From Limiting Beliefs to Limitless Self: A writing journey from wounded to whole

From Limiting Beliefs to Limitless Self: A writing journey from wounded to whole

This course grows directly out of Amanda's therapeutic journalling training and her own healing journey. Using mindful writing, guided meditations, and compassionate self-inquiry, it helps you identify the limiting beliefs formed in childhood — and transform them into a new narrative grounded in your inherent worth.

The course moves through naming the beliefs, tracing their origins, separating who you are from what happened to you and what you might have been told about yourself, rewriting the script, embodying the new story, and integrating the changes into daily life. It is gentle, deep, and genuinely transformative work.

This course is for you if you sense that old stories — about your worth, your capability, your lovability — are still quietly running the show. It's not about bypassing the past but meeting it with compassion, so you can move forward with more freedom.

Cultivating Self-Compassion: A journalling journey to being kinder to yourself

From Limiting Beliefs to Limitless Self: A writing journey from wounded to whole

From Limiting Beliefs to Limitless Self: A writing journey from wounded to whole

Shaped by Amanda's training with Tara Brach and Jack Kornfield and her practice as a therapeutic journalling practitioner, this course helps you meet yourself with kindness rather than harsh self-judgement. It is an invitation to slow down and meet yourself with the kindness you would offer anyone else.

The sessions explore where your inner critic comes from and what it's trying to protect, how to practise self-kindness, how to embrace our shared humanity so that struggle feels less isolating, and how to use mindful awareness — including the powerful RAIN practice — to hold difficult emotions with balance and care.

WHAT'S INCLUDED

4 lessons

Writing prompts

RAIN practice

Self-compassion meditation

This course is for you if your inner critic is loud, if you find it easier to extend compassion to others than to yourself, or if you want a contemplative, low-pressure space to practise being kinder to yourself through writing.

Ageing Gratefully: A journey to embracing the wisdom and joy of your elderhood

From Limiting Beliefs to Limitless Self: A writing journey from wounded to whole

Ageing Gratefully: A journey to embracing the wisdom and joy of your elderhood

A journalling course that brings together mindfulness, epigenetics, and the wisdom traditions Amanda has been exploring for decades — including Traditional Chinese Medicine and the teachings of Thich Nhat Hanh — to help you shift your relationship with getting older.

Ageing is something our culture tends to treat as a problem to be managed. This course takes a different view — facing the fears honestly, exploring what is genuinely beautiful about moving into elderhood, and looking at practical ways to live happily and well, drawing on the science of epigenetics to show how much remains within your influence.

WHAT'S INCLUDED

3 lessons

Writing prompts

Self-acceptance meditation

Mantras to work with

This course is for you if you're navigating the strange territory of getting older — and want to do so with more grace, curiosity, and gratitude than fear. It's also a good entry point if you're new to journalling as a contemplative practice.
